After 30 years of having a career in teaching and food product development, I rekindled my long-held interest in art whilst recovering from an illness.
I live in Oxfordshire and in 2004 I started attending art classes at Sunningwell Art school, near Abingdon and later classes with Jennny Jowett and Ron Freeborn. Since then I have continued painting and have developed a passion for colour in plants and nature recording my work in oils, pastel and watercolours.
My work ranges from the tight observation of botanicals, where careful attention to detail is important, to the looser and bolder use of oils and pastels. I mainly work in my studio but still go to classes and gather ideas from the local area or when travelling both in this country and abroad.
My paintings fall into 3 categories, Botanical Watercolours, Still Life and Land & Seascapes.
I have exhibited and sold my work in local art group exhibitions and in Oxfordshire Artweeks. I have also been a member of the 'Society of Floral Painters'
Prints & original paintings on my website are for sale : for more information go to the contact page.
